The best way to take care of an issue with your car on a long road trip is to simply plan for it long before you ever leave the house. These tips should help you to deal with many of the issues you may encounter on your road trip.

If the trip is especially long, look for a hotel now at the midway point so you can mentally break the trip down into two sections, so you don't get overwhelmed and push yourself too hard and fall asleep at the wheel. Keep a box in the trunk with some emergency essentials. In the box should be some blankets, tools, water, snacks, and flashlights. Make sure that you check the spare tire is full of air and that all the tools needed to jack up the car and remove the tire is safely in the trunk.

Make sure you set aside an afternoon so you can have our staff at Bill Summers Ford LLC check the vehicle for any signs of trouble!
